reflecting story through multiple lenses.

I love collaborating with other artists - especially writers - to create visual reflections and translations of their work. There are many ways these experiences can unfold, but the inherent unknown of what will result is what fuels my passion for the collaborative proces.

One example is my collaboration with a writer who is also an inspired visual artist. I created a beginning layer of visual works from a poem he wrote, then sent these works to him to add layers. We traded them back and forth about four times before feeling they were complete. Another example is my works stemming from a poet’s new emerging work. Following these pieces, the poet is now writing from my original visual artworks.

I feel called to do works that challenge me to truly listen to another human’s perspective and story; and share in the vulnerability of the process alongside this person.

The possibilities are endless and always offer beauty both inside and out.
